For renowned artist Rusty Peters, Springvale Station in the Kimberley is more than his childhood home. He was born under a Warlagarri or Supplejack tree on the station. He learned traditional law and the skills of a stockman on the station. He also saw his father die on that station. Today it is the big bullock yard that that looms large in his mind when thinks of his time living at Springvale Station. "That big bullock yard - we worked real hard there. Then we'd sit under those trees and light a fire, make a camp," he said.
