"Kurtal big snake here, cheeky one. Proper jila this one, living water. This is jilji (sandhill - surrounding
waterhole) on the outside, That bit that's where Kurtal makes his toilet (break between sandhill). If you
get bush tucker from wrong place that big wind comes up because you make that snake angry. We don't
get jurnta (bush onion) from just anywhere, you got to be careful
No one can't jump in this waterhole, my husband Spider Snell is the Tradi????onal Owner of this country. He
saved my brother life, my brother he wanted to drink water from this waterhole the snake pull him in but
my husband pull him back up and save his life."
Kurtal is a jila (waterhole) associated with rainmaking southwest of Lake Gregory. It is a permanent
waterhole
