Dreampool (Rose)' challenges the traditional constructs of landscape painting and deliberately evades scale. But omitting the horizon line, the painting floats, yet the soft fuzzy pink suggests a cloud in the sky. The familiar globule could be understood as a liquid pool, or a rock or gemstone, or a negative space; a hole. In 'Dreampool (Rose)' this globule is a bodily, blood red shade contrasted by a candy pink cloud hovering above.
