                                                    Nawurapu Wununmurra from Yirrkala on the Northeast coast of Arnhem Land is one of the senior and prominent artists at Yirrkala. He was won many prestigious awards and is a tall elegant man with great integrity. 
Famous for his Mokuy spirit carvings, he also carves and paints fish with the pattern of Garraparra, a special design belonging to him representing the coastal headland and bay within Blue Mud Bay.
